Had fun last weekend with #RankAndFile rules for Battle of Minden game. Didn't go to plan other than hold, hold, hold & even that went up in smoke at the end. But it was enjoyable. Consequently it's inspired me to get on with rebasing 15mm WSS/GNW stuff. So that's the weekend sorted.

2nd day of boardgaming: luckily getting a hands-on tutorial of Napoleon's Triumph. Such a stylish elegant game. It's definitely different from usual hex-&-counter format. Enjoyably lost & making observation notes on how to delve further into this & learn more soon with my own copy.

Today: 'Churchill' - interesting game of 'cooperative competition' between USA, GB & USSR in WW2. Defeat Axis powers, but always keep an eye on post-war supremacy. Fair to say it's a challenge to learn. Enjoyed it & will play again.

Tonight's Hobby-Admin while listening to historical podcasts: cutting & sticking magnetic tape on underside of my 15mm WSS/GNW. No more sliding around loose in drawers, safer storage at home in the new cabinets. Long overdue & less slap dash with my own creations.

New element to add to my old Gothic-1889 project, some rules to dabble with. Published a while ago I first got a PDF then saw Old Glory UK still have printed copies. Simple horror-genre skirmish stuff in a handy basic outline that will allow some adaptation for role-play aspects.

Back from High Germany after marching around Nordlingen in the service of Gustav Adolphus! Cracking historic event everyone gets involved in. Great place, still walled, plenty of preserved architecture, residents proud of their history. Will do the event again if invited!

It's the start of Turn 13: IMHO Waterloo is won for the Anglo-Allies. As expected Prussians have caught the over-extended French Right, hurled it back. Allied Right has surged back to retake Hougomont after French had it for 1 turn. And Imperial Guard driven off with a British Guards bayonet charge!
