If you stand there and do nothing, you are just as guilty. Failure to stand up and say something is morally repugnant is saying that it’s okay. Silence is approval in all situations. Racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, and all discrimination. Be the men you claim to be. Be better. We expect it

I had to then explain that she was powerless. Unless MEN started calling each other out on their bad behavior nothing would change. Women can only do so much to advance equality and dignity. Unless men stop acting like assholes, calling each other out and policing themselves nothing will change.

We had a long discussion about power dynamics and how a 21 yr old intern had no ability to do anything in a huge company and that if he didn’t say something nothing would change. A Sr manager then joined the conversation and he thought it was her responsibility. And I lost it.

Mind you he’s in his 50’s. This guy had sexually Harassed me in front of management who did zero to stop the gross behavior. I told my friend he had to stand up for that girl and go to management. He was confused, thinking the 21 yr old intern needed to go to HR. I said no He had to stand up for her

1/? am going to tell a long story so bear with me… about 8 years ago I was at a big meeting with national leaders in my company’s division. One of my male colleagues walked up to me visibly upset. Another man in our division had told a 21 yr old intern that he “wanted to shake her tree”.
