I like being on my keyboard in the early hours of the morning. It’s one of my favorite parts of winter in the northern hemisphere— it’s dark longer, which is great for my focus.
But dev tools like this AWS login with the bright white background just kill the vibe

When you're new to the programming world, my best advice is to ignore the advice of more senior devs.
Sometimes they are right, but most of the time a fresh brain can do better in a problem space, and you should lean into that.

Tech: PHP + jQuery + SQLite on a Hetzner VPS with Nginx and Ubuntu
Don't overthink it. Don't need to ship a pile of shitty TypeScript front end code.

I wonder how many of these malicious bots have been abandoned by their creators and are just polluting the internet?
Like space junk.

Google has handed its search product over to the C team.
Is anyone building a search engine? Let's go Duck Duck Go!
Seems like this is a good time to give it a college try.

Keep coding.
Or step back, take a walk, listen to some music, get some sleep, and come back with a fresh mind.
Your code will thank you.

Just because we can put a workflow into code for an AI agent, doesn't mean we should, or that we are ready for it.
Really great point here.

Honestly, I think AI agents *will* be coding agents. Agents can only operate within workflows which can be expressed in code.
AI is not taking away programmers jobs. It's making them more relevant than ever.

The Kixx framework will feature a document datastore which writes documents to disk as individual small files.
Why?
Because it means you can set up a project without running a database, *and* it's actually really fast.

in a wild plot twist, openai’s rise literally saved google from being broken up. absolutely unreal. you couldn’t script this if you tried.

Creative risk trades near-term value capture for long-term value creation.
One way I've found to get into this frame of mind is to ask myself what somebody else should be working on. That's probably where the long term value creation is.

If it is an entirely AI simulation of Microsoft then why do you need to hire anyone?
How's that for tongue-in-cheek?
