Prodigy was a truncated Voyager with the chaos of Farscape absent the latter's sweat and relentless hormones.
It was effortless in cutting through my carefully cultivated snark and demonstrating a Trek show that skews young without becoming a CW approximation of Star Trek.

as someone who loves robot / ai fiction, this a million times over.
Sci-fi that deals with questions of artificial consciousness is interesting because it's pushing us to think about what it means to be human. It functions as a metaphorical mirror.
