Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

In that sense she's very different from his other leads, who at least had some valuable skill in their profession. And even when they weren't they quickly proved to have the right personality for it in some way (walts ruthlessness etc).
