Just for fun (and in preparation for Pokémon HOME rewards), I decided to do an Alpha Living Dex in Legends: Z-A.
I bought 20 Jaw Fossils and after only one reset (40 fossils revived total), I ended up with not only an alpha Tyrunt (1/100 odds), but a shiny one (1/4096 odds) too!

With Kalos being the region that Vivillon first appeared in, I find it hard to imagine that they wouldn’t do some kind of event to allow us to natively obtain all of Vivillon’s patterns in Legends: Z-A, like how they had the GO postcard system in Scarlet and Violet.

I wonder if Legends: Z-A is the reason that Xerneas and Yveltal are the only box legendaries that are unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet. Was this subtle foreshadowing?

I visited a local card store last week with a friend. She was there to trade-in some stuff, but I was just browsing.
My partner met us there (to pick me up) while I was admiring certain cards on wishlist that they happened to have in one of their display cabinets.

I think Legends: Z-A has the most balanced shiny-hunting of any Pokémon game so far.
And by balanced, I mean how shiny hunting is insanely quick, easy, and stress-free in the base game, and then the DLC pulls a “hold my beer”.

I unlocked the Shiny Charm in Legends: Z-A yesterday and have already failed two Hyperspace shinies due to the timer running out right as they shined. Yay.

I’m training up competitive team for tackling Ranked Battles in Pokémon Legends Z-A. I haven’t done any EV training since Gen IV - my gosh, it’s so much quicker and easier now!
It’s actually super fun making builds with optimal EVs, IVs, Natures, etc…am I into competitive Pokémon now?

75 hours into Pokémon Legends: Z-A and I literally just found out (by finally reading through the Tourist Tips, no less) that you can mix-and-match certain clothing item sets to get even more customisation options. Absolute game changer.

I finally finished the main story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. I was a little sceptical going in, knowing that it was going to be more battle-focused (compared to how Legends: Arceus was very catching-focused) but I actually really enjoyed the battle mechanics of this game.

The new Japanese “MEGA Dream ex”expansion is has some gorgeous cards! I had no intention of getting back into buying boosters, but I’ll at least be picking up the English “Ascended Heroes” Elite Trainer Box when it releases. I want all of these for my collections (N’s Zekrom will be the ETB promo).

Anthea & Concordia finally making their first Pokémon Trading Card Game appearance in 2025 is not something I expected.
It’s disappointing that Pokémon Pokopia will be a game-key card, but at least it’s better than a digital-only or code-in-box release.
In saying that though, between everything getting DLC and/or software updates, nothing these days is truely a physical complete-on-cart (or disc) release anymore.
