I really enjoyed the exhibit "When We See Us: A Century of Black Figuration in Painting" at Liljevalchs in Stockholm. It's organized around six themes: The Everyday, Joy and Revelry, Repose, Sensuality, Spirituality, and Triumph and Emancipation.

Took the boat there – nice way to spend a Sunday!

We were there for the Aalto exhibition!

"Aalto" means wave in Finnish, which is an appropriate name considering the glassware designed by the Aalto couple 🌊

It's too dark for landscape shots, but the place has a special atmosphere with the gravestones, pine trees, and architectural elements.

Breakfast Time, 1887.

This is the kind of painting that is more impressive when seen in person, because the light is everything.

Saw the Hanna Hirsch Pauli show at Nationalmuseum. Beyond her lovely portrait of Venny Soldan-Brofeldt (below), one line hit hard:

"Just after Hitler came to power in Germany, Hirsch Pauli wrote to Selma Lagerlöf: 'It's like we're sliding backwards down a slope, into the darkest Middle Ages.'"
