I posted this 🇻🇪 🧵🪡 on Twitter but I’m also gonna post it here, for anyone still confused about why venezuelans are celebrating Maduro’s extraction, I hope it helps give some nuance about the whole situation (comments are disable, I’m not gonna engage on this debate, I just want to explain)

“The venezuelan dictator was extracted from Venezuela” THAT should be the general headline. Maduro was a dictator, A DICTATOR, he was NOT the elected President of Venezuela. He LOST last year’s elections and still seized power BY FORCE. Can the media outlets stop with the wrong labeling?!

Just spoke with my family in Caracas again, they all seem excited about what is going on but there is definitely a huge uncertainty about what the Venezuelan military will do now and nobody seems to leave their homes still. People are making lines in front of supermarkets trying to stock up food
