I have been several other people. Now I'm this.

My main obsessions are Sailor Moon, BT21, and board games. I do fan convention work and stream Let's Plays. Also, I'm unapologetically leftist, so if that's a problem for you, kindly see yourself out.
I don't condone violence, although I feel the range of alternatives is rapidly narrowing. I am increasingly frustrated by our officials continuing to push for peaceful protest above all else. But here's the thing. The feds chose Minneapolis because they thought we would be easy to break. 🧵 (1)

Mike Max of WCCO is out on the streets again. It's wild seeing a sportscaster filling the role of a war correspondent.

We are not angry enough.

It's crazy watching folks twist themselves into wilder and wilder pretzels in an attempt to justify this madness. SOMETIMES PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS. Hell, sometimes they even make mistakes! Identify and punish those people, and it may not happen again. Let it slide, and things keep escalating.

People who think the Minnesota resistance is excessive, consider how many veterans are involved. People who were willing to lay down their lives for their country. How bad do things have to be, that they feel they need to take a stand?

Today in Adventures in Homeownership:

The hose of my pull-down kitchen faucet is leaking. I figured out how to disconnect it, but like a lot of the fixtures the house flipper used it's a cheap unusual brand that universal replacement parts might not fit. Gotta call the manufacturer. Sigh.

Well that's fun.

It's silly, but this shirt makes me ridiculously happy.

The 2020 uprising was a training ground for the government, but it was a training ground for us, too.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

Shit in America That Should Be Illegal But Isn't:

I was at a sandwich place, and when the tip prompt popped up on the card reader, I asked the cashier if they actually get the tips from that. They hesitated, but answered honestly that no, they don't.

It's such a scam.

Maybe he wants Venezuela so he and his criminal friends will have somewhere to escape to when their time is up, like Argentina was for their predecessors.

ICE is continuing to needlessly shed blood in my city. This art is free for you to use for protest signs. It's 18"x24" and can be scaled down. file.garden/aWb-ELIzNWYH...

If I had a nickel for every time I ended up running supplies to a distribution center because government bullshit was preventing people from providing for themselves, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Lousy day. But I finished my puzzle.

I'm still out of town until tomorrow and as scary as it is, I'm antsy to be home and helping in my own neighborhood. We are under attack by our own federal government. I feel like a heel not being there.
January 11, 2026 at 9:32 PM
It sure is fun living in the state that's openly under attack by the federal government.

It's January 9th, I'm in northern Minnesota, and I went to the store in a T-shirt today.

Decided to relax a bit by doing a puzzle. I got the boys together in record time, bam bam bam. It probably took me half an hour. The snowflake bits, slower but still decent. The remaining solid blue sections... not so much.

Thinking about the woman whose wife is not home with her tonight.
January 8, 2026 at 8:11 AM
Okay, folks. We've been through this shit before.

If someone tries to break things or start a fire, you tackle their ass. Remember AutoZone? Outsiders WILL be coming to spark chaos. Don't let them manipulate the narrative.

This is OUR state. The people united will never be defeated.

A plea to the rest of the world:

Never trust the USA again.

In a year or two, things may change. But the circumstances that allowed all this to happen will still exist. Americans have become stupid and selfish and our memory is short. This is who and what we are.

We're no longer a reliable ally.

Thinking of this old Robot Chicken sketch today for some reason.

Who would be cast as the modern USA? NATO?

We lost Franken to overblown fake controversy.

Now we're losing Walz to overblown fake controversy.

All the good things the DFL has done will easily be taken away when the pendulum of stupidity hands the state back over to the GOP.

I'm just so sad and tired.

Got a bit of bonus Christmas spirit today attending a themed drag brunch at Chanhassen Dinner Theater. It warmed my heart to see so many first-timers, Boomers, and men there. Everyone was having a great time. It IS possible for people to just live their lives and share experiences with each other.
