For info., I believe QALYs are NICE mandated (they’ve also declined by ~47% in 20 years). But point taken.

Labour’s Darren Jones was at the Treasury while it drove through cuts to housing benefit and disability benefits

He claimed £39,428 in rent expenses in 2024/25. If he claims £3,750 a month for the whole year, his annual total will be more than his constituents are paid each year on average

Our (NICE’s) efficacy/price framework is regressive and incentivises higher costs for worse drugs, vs independent assessment of drug efficacy followed by lobbying on cost. Sticking plaster would be a bit more autonomy for doctors on-off label use.

I’m neither advocating nor criticising the idea.

Huh. I have exactly the same taskbar issues. Deeply frustrating. Started a couple of weeks ago after last update. Have you found a solution?

Parts of the UK left significantly over-emphasise "comms", "messaging" etc at the expense of policy substance. No doubt those things are very important. But if you look closely at e.g. AOC & Mamdani they have a serious grasp of the relevant subject areas, without which their messaging wouldn't work

Living in the burbs is the antithesis of what it is to be human and the food culture in rural areas is awful. Cities are why all this is even worth it.

To be fair, she was pro Remain during the referendum. I believe she subsequently argued that since we had voted to leave, the left should make a progressive argument for the approach towards doing so. Which seems… very reasonable?
