Since we’re saying hello: I’m Kenny, in and from Glasgow, looking after public affairs and comms for a mental health charity. I’ve always worked around Scottish politics, which I love, but find people who support parties like football teams very odd. I like sport and human rights and my cat and dog.
Just had a look at the @parliament.scot business bulletin and there are two debates on Wednesday that still don’t have published motions. I know this is niche but it should matter to us all; how are citizens and orgs meant to inform debate in our Parliament if we don’t know what the debate’s about?

I see we’re going to be talking about Hampden today.

From Falkirk to Aberdeen, Dundee to Inverness. Far right groups are attending anti-asylum protests across Scotland.

We spent three months investigating. People doxxed, attacked, threatened. And communities standing firm.

Our first monthly long read.

Hanging out with the dog on the couch and I don’t know what he ate on his walk earlier but he definitely ate something.

People are very hard on young people on here, lack of critical thinking, lack of responsibility etc, and then you see something like this and it all makes a different kind of sense.

'We have a historically high proportion of working-age people not actually working.' No we don't.

'The number of Britons emigrating is skyrocketing.' No it isn't.

There is a direct line between politicians, journalists and officials being on twitter and this ridiculous policy.

These are the illegal orders people have been urging the US military not to obey. This is murder, plain and simple, for which Hegseth is undoubtedly primary responsible but everyone in this chain of command has blood on their hands.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

This is how the Mail has covered a 70% fall in net migration.

The Government should stop kidding itself it will ever get credit for being anti-migration. They could cut numbers to zero and there would still be front pages blasting them for making the UK a socialist wasteland no one wants to come to

If net immigration dropping two-thirds is “a step in the right direction”, presumably the govt has a destination in mind. Is there any possibility they’ll tell us what that is, and why?

Today's 70% fall in net migration to 205,000 was not one of the six stories in BBC ten o'clock news.

Ta massive assymetry in whether rises in immigration and falls in immigration are considered newsworthy by broadcasters

Down by 140k isn't thought to be.

Up by 140k undoubtedly would be.

Most of the public think net migration increased last year, when in fact numbers halved.

New findings from the Ipsos/British Future Immigration Attitudes Tracker show that 56% of the public thinks immigration increased last year. Just 1 in 6 realise it was down
