The older kids kept it alive for the younger kids, and it was a very magical two decades.
It's been a few years since anyone but me gave thought to the elves. It could be days before anyone thinks to look for them, or even notice that they moved locations. 😞
I miss that Christmas magic. 🎄✨

We had two cute little elves visit nightly during the month of December, long before Elf-on-a-Shelf was a thing. They didn't do anything naughty- it was more like a game of hide and seek, where the kids would wake up and go searching for them. It was one of my most favorite traditions.

What I can't figure out is why they use such vibrant colors to call attention to what they're trying to hide. 😄

This reminds me of education, where they talk about using explicit instruction and scaffolding for increased understanding and teacher clarity, but only for students who are struggling, and really, if it's good for one, wouldn't it be good for all?
