I frequently get stuck on music, football, investing/the market, and the NYT Crossword. Definitely not financial advice, and only sometimes the views of my employer.

Amazing read. I sold my semiconductor ETF and have been feeling like a bit of an idiot for it but history may absolve me. (Not financial advice.)
Premium: This is The Hater's Guide To NVIDIA: A 14k word guide to how NVIDIA makes its money, how millions of Blackwell GPUs have been sold with nowhere for them to be installed, and how NVIDIA's future relies on companies raising hundreds of billions in debt.

The Hater's Guide To NVIDIA
This piece has a generous 3000+ word introduction, because I want as many people to understand NVIDIA as possible. The (thousands of) words after the premium break get into arduous detail, but I’ve wr...

I dig so much that I can idly wander by a stranger playing piano, and a stranger playing acoustic guitar, on my walk home by the harbour.

An easy call: Mr Inbetween is the best show I’ve ever seen. You’ve gotta watch it.

My Uber driver said, “I heard writers know different words. They can see and feel things we can’t.” 5 stars.

I think the thing about AI writing is the voice of everyone is the voice of no one. It's aggregate words and not a real position so people immediately tune out.

I fell in love (love in Interpol basslines)

Started watching Mr Inbetweener and it turns out it's almost entirely shot in my neighbourhood so, that's fun.

The dictionary speaks for me in a way no one else does.
I need "Stats are down but he played great" to make it into the lexicon.

It feels like every second week is an international break. I just want vengeance for dropping 8 places.

Just made Nagi’s cheesy broccoli soup and unsurprisingly it is legit.

Oasis is incredible. You see Liam come on stage and you’re like “that is the coolest man ever to exist” but then you see Noel and you think, “that is the coolest man ever to exist.” Crazy that the Liam songs and the Noel songs exist from the same family. $60 bucket hat = worth it.

Writing this novel is the best thing I've ever done. I'm so happy.

Here's a take: critiquing or questioning AI is challenging for some because it forces us to contend with our humanism. If you can cut out the messy parts of humanity and trick yourself into believing you can live forever - a certain type of person would live for that.

There's a hedge fund called Nelson Peltz but when I see it in print I think of Nelson Muntz.

Browsing an immaculately categorised though overflowing second hand bookstore today and its stereo hit me with a Lou Reed’s Perfect Day and some days just hit exactly right.

I keep thinking about this skeet and how much it sums up my entire existence.
There's sometimes talk about the disadvantages rural kids have when they get to college.

One that doesn't get discussed is just how few types of guy you're familiar with. Your town had maybe like 4 types of guy. You meet all these new people & it takes FOREVER for you to grasp that they're types.

Hotels with a choice of five movie channels are so comfortingly like being back in childhood. So far I’ve watched Harry Potter 3 and a terrible movie called Trap because they were the best options. Limited choice = alright by me.
