From yesterday -- Saint Nicholas Day 2025. 🎅🏼

If you're not familiar with the toy Superman is holding, there's an explanation in the next post.

Relatedly, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum shared this image of a Rolodex on Facebook the other day, and all I could see was Snoopy.
A Rolodex from 1958 which to me looks remarkably like Snoopy from *Peanuts.* It's in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in NYC. Their description, via Facebook: "There are few office supply objects more iconic than the Rolodex. The name comes from a combination of the words rolling and index. Before the digital age of smartphones and computers, they were ubiquitous in offices across the globe, helping people 'network' and maintain their business and personal contacts. __ "Open rotary card file, Rolodex model 5024X, 1958; Manufactured by Rolodex Corporation; USA. This is really hard to explain, but it's a screengrab of a (now sold out) costume from Spirit Halloween: "Adult Reciprocal Tariffs Parody Costume." The photo shows a young man essentially wearing a sandwich board featuring a parody of the "Reciprocal Tariffs" chart Trump held up at a press conference a while back. I often pass this home in my neighborhood on my (semi-) daily walks. It's actually a historic home -- one of the ~2,000 Lustron homes* extant in the US.

But what really grabbed my attention today was the Easter Bunny hanging out w/ all the other Halloween-themed decorations. 😄🎃

If you're in NE Ohio and would like some seasonally appropriate art for Halloween -- for free! -- I took a couple of small canvases to @lakewoodartsupply this afternoon and placed them in the Little Free Art Gallery there (take one, leave one!).

Frankenstein's monster is holding a bouquet of daisies. The Little Free Art Gallery ("Leave one, take one") at Lakewood Art Supply in Lakewood, Ohio. It's a wooden box with a door (kind of like a kitchen cabinet); the door has a clear plexiglass window. Inside: two shelves featuring artworks people have contributed.
