If the Democrats take control of Congress in about a year and Jeffries and Schumer haven't been primaried, then they almost certainly will be the leaders of both bodies, and based on all available evidence they will take that opportunity to immediately surrender in the name of unity and comity.

It's fascinating how Rebecca Heinemann managed to make Out of this World run on the SNES. Interplay, publisher of the console versions and the company she co-founded, wouldn't pay for Super FX/static RAM/FastROM chips. "I made a game using polygons working on a 65816 with pure software rendering."

I repeat, RFK Jr doesn’t have to say “I’m banning vaccines” to effectively ban vaccines. Exhibit umpteen hundred and sixteen (this happened the same day they appointed the anti-vaxxing snake-oil salesman above as deputy CDC head):
The CDC has turned off its vaccine search tool.

The vaccines.gov site now gives an error when you enter a valid zip code.

They also removed text saying “Vaccines can help you stay healthy” and added a banner saying the site is being updated.

And always remember, in competitive games, it is often true that one player's fun IS their opponent's frustration. Very delicate.

I know that some devs like Riot look at pick rate as a factor for balance, and like, yeah pick rate might indicate a character being too strong, or it might just indicate a character being fun, and you gotta figure out which it is.

I hope you get the chance because hearing you talk about this on KI honestly changed my entire perspective for how to talk to designers about player feedback!

I wrote a proposed GDC talk about my views on this but never got to give it. Id like to turn it into a youtube video or something someday.

I believe that if a design team pursues balance, in the traditional meaning of the word, the game will end up with less variety, less fun, and lower retention.

Reducing frustrators and enabling a lot of thoughtful player expression and fantasy fulfillment are the ways you achieve those goals.
