Husband, father, occasional writer, lover of music, cheese and all things spooky.
Wrote two novels during lockdown. The Burnt Watcher and Visitation. A third escapes me.
Does anyone have any unsettling true supernatural stories they might wish to share? I am considering writing a book exploring folklore and ghosts/strangeness, so of anyone would care to share please do DM me.

So Labour aknowledge that Brexit has done huge damage to the UK but rule out any attempt at repairing it...or even talking about repairing it.
Bunch of amoeba, the lot of them.

The incredible ‘Orkney Hood’ from Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So well preserved it looks like it was woven yesterday rather than some 1,500 years ago!

It’s thought the hood was made for a child. Found in 1867 in a peat bog in St Andrews Parish, Orkney.

There are few things that annoy me more than the use of the word "hella". A review for a new power and pre-amplifier costing around £8k EACH should not have the phrase "it's hella powerful" in it.

So, the US is now effectively anti-vax. Let's see how long it takes for measles and flu to really do some damage.
Meanwhile, other countries should require vaccine certificates to accept tourists from the US.

Has the US actually declared war on Venezuala? If not, wtf is going on? At what point does the country decide that having a senile rapist as leader is a bad idea?

From the history of my local pub:-
"If Sampson Harris do not fetch the mare, he left in October last with Reuben Hyde, at the Globe Inn, at Stonehouse, within fourteen days from the date hereon, the same will be publicly sold to defray the expenses thereof.”

Watched Bladerunner again last night. Would have been so much better if they had gone with the original idea, that instead of origami unicorns, Edward James Olmos’ character had made balloon animals.

There is a budget hole in the UK of about £20bn over 5 years. Brexit has cost around £90bn a year. I wonder what the solution to our financial woes could be?
I assume that Reeves won't announce that we are rejoining the single market, however. So, more obfuscation and tinkering to appease Farage.

With Measles and Whooping Cough cases increasing in the US, how long should we wait before introducing vaccination-status checks at our borders?

A little reminder to the likes of RFK jnr: we are but the third generation of humans where infectious disease has not been the main cause of mortality.
Go to an English graveyard and see how many graves contain children. THIS is the world you will create.

So the US "peace" plan which favours Russia was, it seems, drafted in...Russia, by the Russians. Then the US agreed it.
So, again, what would Trump do differently if he were a Russian agent?

So in the Russia/US peace plan for Ukraine, what, exactly, does Russia lose?

Labour can royally f*ck off at this point. When Tiny Tommy Ten Names approves of your asylum policy you have gone badly wrong. When will Labour stop pandering to the worst in our society and stand up to the traitorous leader of Reform Ltd?

So, not only d9es Corbyn and Sultana's party have a terrible name they are using Gen AI to do their artwork. How pro-worker is that?

Watched Weapoms last night. On the whole, a very good take on what a fairytale would actually be like to live in. But, my god, it was dark. Why do modern films all have to be shot in a mine?
