One of the important roles of independent journalists is that of context-making. News orgs generally suck at it (I.e., they don’t do it). It’s not “opinion” to put a quote or claim into context, especially when it’s mis/disinformation.

I’m pretty sure, like “social media,” “influencer” will not result in a single definition. And what is ‘many’ followers? That’s relative. Arghh.

I think of them as journalists or analysts. @hcrichardson.bsky.social is as much a political analyst as she is historian, for example.
