We all deserve a government that takes care of its people.
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

That AIPAC magic no longer working. Politico email alert:

"Malinowski vowed to oppose any candidate the group “openly or surreptitiously” supports in the June primary for the full term, and called on the Democratic Party to have “nothing to do” with the organization."

All of my heroes are problematic. This is the natural state of things. Except Scalzi and Vandermeer. Right?
To everyone just now finding out Isaac Asimov was rather famously a sex pest: He's been gone 34 years now, you can handle this truth, I believe in you

We have had bad luck with so many fruit trees. Apricot hybrid and Santa Rosa plums bought as adult five gallon trees and both diseased. They'll fruit for a while but we really should just dig them up and replace them with new trees. It's not the money.... It's the time it takes for them to grow.

And a complete failure of the ca state parks to respond to the changing demographics of their visitors. The weird thing is that the Sonoma County horse population is up since the 90s. Lots of horses just for the vibes and not for riding?
You can read this sign a lot of ways.

I choose to recognize it’s elitism and exclusivity when it comes to shared spaces.

I went on a bike ride today with my son. It was cold and we were both a little underdressed but that's understandable given that yesterday was warm enough for a summer kit. It's beautiful and spring is coming, the narcissus and daffodils are blooming. #everythingisfuckedbutyoucanstillfindpeace

What in the what now? A mushroom that causes a specific hallucination?
'They saw them on their dishes when eating': The mushroom making people hallucinate dozens of tiny humans
Only recently described by science, the mysterious mushrooms are found in different parts of the world, but they give people the same exact visions.

Made the most of unseasonable coastal warmth to go mushrooming with two homies, had an unexpected good haul of trumpets, hedgehog, golden chanterelles and yellow foots...feet? Came home and cooked.

Juan is a true master of community building.
In Sonoma Co. there are few people who have positively impacted bicycle culture as much as this man. He has a story, & at this moment he is about to reveal a new smile - a very expensive smile - after years of pain from his poor decisions. He deserves a few bucks.
