Thanks also to Eric for reminding me about Park's Little Drummer Girl; now on free streaming (after premiering on BBC/AMC in 2018). I've wanted to see it for awhile. Makes sense that a filmmaker inspired by Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and Ernest Hemingway would adapt Westlake and le Carré.
