A few days ago, Fox News was whining about ICE agents getting heckled at a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.

Is this the supposed "national sovereignty" that the Brexiteers and right-wing newspapers said they cared about?

Let's be really clear about what they're saying here.

These same Brexiteers who were screaming about a loss of "sovereignty" through equal participation in a European confederation think it's perfectly OK for 🇺🇸 to dictate that a country can't send troops to *its own territory*.

These so-called "patriotic" 🇬🇧newspapers who brought you Brexit were never really patriotic at all.

They are driven by a disdain for Britain's European neighbours, and a fawning obsession with America.

They do not really want 🇬🇧 to be sovereign. They're content being a 🇺🇸vassal.

I cannot avoid noticing that space science organizations are more vocal and active in providing #NASA science related policy information.

NASA is a big founder of Earth Sciences, yet major ES societies like AGU, AMS or GSA seem like they are MIA on this matter.
