Still trying to figure out how much I want to share. Maybe it will be fuller next time...
@susankraemer.bsky.social and @generalcommentator.bsky.social, I don't want to say I said so but...
Turns out if you have power you have power. It's not the institutions that give you power, it's power that honors the institutions.

Don't know about that one chief. Good men don't compromise with fascists. Are they weak?
Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

Then why were Republicans able to block progress during democrat administrations?
Democrats elevate negative rizz politicians (eg. Chuck and Hakim) to protect the interest of donors from more populist effective ones like you.
Thanks for doing what you can. But to move forward we have to ditch them.
Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options.

Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

"democracy"
This is ludicrous.
Insanity.

It's less about the identity of the authors and more about the ideas they propagate. I'm sure they have less of a problem with the likes of JK Rowling.
It's why they love generative AI. Good art often requires unique perspectives so an inquisitive and open mind. It's almost inherently progressive.

It's somewhat true. But we should talk about why. Anytime there is an attempt at rezoning older residents act like dragons guarding their treasure and protest the building of higher density residential units.
One way to solve this is having the government build more to remove the hoarding incentive.
The take I am most certain of that gets me in the most trouble is just "The reason homes are so expensive is because there are not enough of them, so we really really really need to build more of them."
