She was just starting to pick back up the pieces of her life, which was shattered in 2023 when she suddenly lost both of her children within 3 months of each other. I'm not the most religious person, but I take some comfort in thinking that they're all back together again somewhere. I miss them all.

My sister Autumn passed away suddenly at the beginning of this month. It's hard to know how to feel or what to say, since my family is still trying to process the shock and grief. It doesn't feel quite real. I can't pretend our family dynamics were always easy, but it is an unexpected blow.

Nothing super exciting to report just yet. Right now I'm working on sewing the penultimate piece before I put the whole cover onto the foam base (which I haven't purchased the materials for yet, let alone constructed 😅)

I requested a spooky game for our Halloween edition of #FridayNightBoardgames, so we played Terrorscape! I got to play the villain this time, and I chose to be the werewolf. It was a close call, but the survivors barely escaped out the secret exit with two wounded. #boardgames

Forgot to update this thread yesterday, but I finished a re-read of Frankenstein! It's been like 20 years since I first read it, so it was great to refresh my memory before seeing the new movie. Lots of details that often get left out in film interpretations, some of which probably for the better.

Seeing industry friends posting about SPIEL Essen is giving me major FOMO and making me reminisce about me & Blake's European romp two years ago. I don't necessarily miss the convention crowds, but I'd love to be able to go back again someday!

Just finished listening to Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab, and I loved it. A centuries-spanning tale of toxic lesbian vampires, and the three audiobook narrators absolutely brought their parts to life (or undeath, rather). I think it's one of my favorites of the year so far!

We celebrated yesterday with a fun and memorable night at Teatro ZinZanni 🎪 The food was delectable, and the show was dazzling. I can't wait to go again sometime!

We were on the lightrail home when the Mariners won their game in the 15th inning, so the whole train erupted into cheers 😆
