I am tired. No big deal, just 241 workout minutes. Lol. American Heart Association conference in town, 14,000 attendees. Restaurant was packed last night with tons of large parties. We have a reception for 80 booked tonight. We’re all dragging but happy for the money!

This is my receipt from Winn Dixie yesterday. Like… $7 for a spaghetti squash?? $6 for leeks? Wild. I get it, I understand why food prices are high, but it’s always shocking to see it reflected so much in fruits and vegetables…

I did not eat any Halloween candy but I did eat no fewer than 7 of these cookies. They taste exactly the way I remember.

We had a great fundraiser today! I was freezing bc I have Southern blood, but it was a gorgeous fall day at the Clamfest! If anyone would like to support our scholarship fund, we give out a yearly $3500 award to a student from my hometown who will be in a field that will impact the life of a child.

Oh, no big deal. Just 253 zone minutes at work when we had over 150 covers and 3 servers. Nbd. lol. Not complaining, this summer has been tough for servers! Happy to make money! And also just took a Tylenol with my dinner.

Today and tomorrow are Tulane fall break, so I don’t have to teach tonight. Using the time to listen to an audiobook (and keep an eye on the Red Sox game) and put my Halloween decorations up. I’m so pleased.

MY DAY HAS BEEN MADE. I got my Crab Facts advent calendar from @sarahmackattack.bsky.social , and just had the eel one shipped to my sister. I am so excited! Now I just have to decide which 24 days I want to use it for!🦀

Do you have any interest in reading about hiking? If so, I just finished 2 excellent books…Heartwood is fiction but is about a woman who gets lost hiking the Appalachian trail, and Trail of the Lost is a true story about the search for 3 (separate) missing hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Do it!!! They’ll be best friends…and yes, it will teach him responsibility! lol. The black dog (Nellie) is 100% the big sister who feels responsible for the blonde idiot (Ben Affleck). She cleans him, taught him how to open the door, and sadly taught him to hate cats 😩.

Made a grilled veg pasta salad from @foodandwine.com and holy moly is it awesome!! I added some Romano cheese but otherwise followed the recipe. It’s a keeper!
