You win some, and if you're good enough, you learn some. Failure is refusing to learn.

I'm pretty eclectic in what I enjoy and share. I'm a user experience researcher, a kahu to our ferrets, a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning, among other things.

I’m a quarter Welsh, and I’m grateful that you shared this. Great grandma didn’t impart this knowledge.

FWIW, I’m not dumping on you or your article, @rawcharge.com. I just want to vent a bit more vehemently. I realized it might not have been clear that my irritation is purely with the phantom officiating, not your choice of words.

Bummer? Complete trash call. No intent to direct the puck. Also, if the ref hadn't been RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLAY, Hagel could've been the first to touch the puck as he started to try to do.

Bolts needed better earlier, but officiating deciding is why we hate the league of the sport we love.

It's hard to win 5 vs. 5+Toronto. The Bolts put themselves in a desperate position, but c'mon? You'd be annoyed if that happened to your team.

Garbage call!

This is horrendous. One of the first things we need to do if/when we see an end to this is become a signatory to the ICC - retroactively!

Thank you for the stats. I hate them, of course, but I appreciate you knowing them.

one of THOSE nights. joy.

She's an inspiration! Love the body positivity in many of her videos. She just a powerful voice for women!

Ooo! That's good.

It's no wonder that the Trump admin wants no one talking about World AIDS Day. If they did, the truth might be revealed.

Again, books have been written and there is much more to this than I can relate here, but working together with these amazing people reaffirmed my belief that we have for too long lauded elected officials, and too infrequently use public pressure to do what is moral and what is needed.

I can see not wanting the cause. However, this kind of discourse is needed. Not just to solve this mess but to continue thinking critically about the importance of civic engagement and *always* challenging our gov't to become a "more perfect union."

Sound pollyannaish, but I understand the work.

I appreciate the opportunity to share these thoughts in a civil discussion. Putting them out into the world means they can be challenged and refined by other perspectives. So thank you for the initial points and @43bat.bsky.social for additional thoughts.

I like Mehdi Hasan's perspectives and follow him as well.

I fully agree with and support your goal, though, so I will stop with my mental wanderings in other directions.

I respect and appreciate that. I was popping off on the idea that the rhetoric used could express the gravity of the situation *and* set up the eventual resolution(s) that should happen. Impeachment (and removal this time) would just need to be based on "high crimes," which this and others are.

I don't think that the USSR was ever as deeply interwoven into the economies of other countries as the US is.

I also don't want to be at war - conventional, cold, trade, or other. I can't love the implications of being subject to sanctions, I would understand the rationale for other's doing so.

Each writes through a very obvious lens. I sample from a lot of sources with that understanding. I have found good truth in many places alongside takes I don't agree with or think are patently wrong. Blatant lying is disqualifying, though.

This includes more traditional news sources at this point.

I do sometimes wonder why we aren't facing global sanctions. Possibly something like "too big to fail" in play here?

Despite the 'Murika First" cries, we are inextricably a global economy. That also makes money a clear lever to put pressure on an unlawful regime, regardless of jurisdiction.
