Quorum breaking is an excellent start. Grab whatever levers of power you have. That’s what Republicans do.

Architectural atrocity plopped into a space where it doesn’t and cannot fit, with absolutely no consideration for surrounding public environment. A desecration of the People’s House. Any “architect” involved with such a travesty must be permanently banned from the profession and laughed out of town.
BIGLY BALLROOM; tiny nuts 🤏🏼

Breaking quorum is a great start. Situation reversed, Republicans would not hesitate.

Sure. Procedural moves are good too. Republican procedural moves are no more legitimate than Democratic procedural moves, like breaking quorum.

Republicans always use whatever levers of power they have available.
Democrats also must always use whatever levers of power they have available.
Pretty simple really.

Breaking quorum is no more an outre political power play than designing an extreme partisan gerrymander in the first place.

Listen up!
Breaking quorum is no more an outre political power play than designing an extreme partisan gerrymander in the first place.
Abbott and Paxton are not inherently in a stronger legal position here.
It’s a political fight using the tools at hand.

Before anyone gets lost in the legal weeds of whether Abbott can force a gerrymander … in everyday terms Republicans are trying to STEAL THE ELECTION.

Republicans will do anything to steal elections. Sure the gerrymandering is “legal” but IT’S STILL STEALING ELECTIONS.
Compare the 2020 MAGA “Stop the Steal” movement, which had almost no legal cover — which lost most of its court cases.
Which one is the real steal?

Not being a doomer here nor a naive idealist but I find it useful to see the dominant political mode as criminal and to keep probing for cracks. The Trump narrative is already breaking down in various ways. Obvious corruption. Idiotic economics. Increasingly unpopular atrocities by ICE. Healthcare.

NYT does carry some actual reporting but I’m reaching a limit with this kind of bullshit. There are better news sources not trying to “balance” their Trump coverage.

Republicans are stealing elections for real. Under some kind of “legal cover” but still stealing elections.
Not like the totally fake STOLEN ELECTION claims of 2020. And Trump’s claims of stolen elections were thrown out in court. No legal cover whatsoever.

MAGA are stealing elections for real.
Really stealing elections, not like the fake accusations of 2020 which were pushed and propagandized until they stuck.

If this drawing is anything like a final rendering for the “White House Bathroom” it’s an exact metaphor for Trump’s miserable existence — a delusional bubble isolated from the real world.
The bubble WILL burst.
The bubble WILL burst.
