Thanks for the share. I hope it helps other women get checked. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer 4.5 years ago. Luckily it was caught at stage 1a and it hasn’t come back.

Oh they announced changes were coming in September of last year that they were dropping the eligibility.

“The Ministry of Health first announced the expansion of breast cancer screening in September 2024. In January it dropped the age from 50 to 47.” From the CBC article.

Maybe down to 45 but they announced a few months ago it was going to go down to 40 by June next year.

He’s dead wrong. The province is working to get the age of eligibility down to 40. If you’re not 45 or above I suggest going back to your doctor for a referral. The plan to lower the eligibility was announced a few months ago. I hope your doctor told you the age was 50 before the eligibility changed
