I've come to the sad conclusion that no one is coming to save trans people. And we're such a vanishingly small minority and have such large and well financed apparatuses arrayed against us that our extermination is inevitable.

I wish it wasn't. I wish cis people would hear us, but they don't care.

Nowhere in there is faith, loyalty, reason, debate or persuasion. They might be any individual Australian's values, but they're not what anyone thinks of when thinking of Australian values.

Those initial values became our guiding lights, along with sportsmanship and later tolerance. They've shaped who we are as a nation and they're reflected by now we've conducted ourselves on the world stage.

Australia is not a perfect nation, all these values are not held to perfectly, but they are ideals to which we constantly strive. Australia, for all its colonial flaws and racist history, was founded on the the strength of diversity, a sense of community, & a willingness to stand up for what's right
