Was excited and possibly thinking about R2 as my next vehicle but not anymore. Why can't we just have cars where you can, you know, like, open the door normally?
I would say the change Rivian made is definitely better but still far from ideal. The manual release is in a more logical place.

But you still need to remove a piece of plastic and pull a cord. Not a great solution in an emergency.

Here's how Rivian changed the rear door manual release on the R2 | TechCrunch
Rivian, along with other automakers, has been under pressure to make the manual door releases easier to access. The new R2 SUV does that — here's how.

My house has something near the roof (probably flashing) that vibrates when it's windy and sounds like a duck call or bassoon. Super annoying and haven't really been able to pinpoint where it is. It's been playing a whole symphony today.

Can AI fix my heat? Oh, maybe I can setup an AI cluster in my basement instead of a boiler?

Spilled a tiny bit of diesel a week ago prepping for the snow storm and I still smell it once in a while. This is why EVs will win once people figure out they don't have to touch gas ever again if they don't want to.

It's funny when people say they're heating with wood / pellets instead of fossil fuels like it's somehow better for global warming.

Still too much AI slop on YouTube, but at least you can tell by how it mispronounces simple words like "coal".

The problem with internal combustion engines is I can hear several of them from a mile away at 3:30am.

AI memory is sold out, causing an unprecedented surge in prices
Three primary memory vendors — Micron, SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics — make up nearly the entire RAM market, and they're benefitting from this shortage.

Did not see that twist coming.
DOWNTOWN IS DYING | One of nine downtown banks is closing. Starting in January, PNC Bank customers will only have one downtown branch and three total branches within city limits to choose from. Nearby residents blame the bike lanes on Huron St.

Love how a fast food burger and fries is $20 now and you have to tell the order system you don't want raspberry boba bubbles in your coke before it will let you continue to payment.
