I think this episode - on this day in August 1989 - isn’t known well enough. It, rather than Berlin in November, was when the Iron Curtain really fell. East Germans left their Trabis on this Hungarian field as if they were picnic litter, and made for the west. www.waterstones.com/blog/lewis-b...
