every once in a while i wonder if I've done/said something that would preclude me from running for office. then I see pols outright using terms like "cuck chair" (laudatory) and I stop worrying so much
I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need “coaching” on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1

ngl this almost got me
Donald Trump "looking very strongly at" appointing Jose Canseco to head of the Federal Reserve. "He's been very fair to me in the past," Trump told the media on Air Force One. "And frankly much more fair than the Tampa Bay Rays were to him."

been thinking more and more about how The Sopranos is the great modern work of art just because David Chase gets this so thoroughly
the right doesn't worship god the way we understand the concept, they worship basically a pagan deity of violence and money
Gonna keep tapping the sign

the thing about Bessent is it's incredibly hard to tell if he's a crank trafficking in the aesthetics of Serious Academia, or he knows better and doesn't care. not sure which is more damning tbh
Tell me how this works

kinda underrated how good "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio" is as a line. it's so poetic/relatable in a way that the oft-misquoted "knew him well" part misses. he knew this guy (though not deeply), and now he's just gone. captures loss specifically—even broadly—really well

Janet Planet got a decent amount of buzz, but I think it's a Major Work and we should be talking about it as such

oh no, the *checks notes* rabidly anti-government people might not be represented by the government
why are there rarely articles written about liberals in red state urban centers (e.g. Salt Lake City) being gerrymandered into some rural conservative representative?

remembering facets of my undergrad that seem like a fever dream. why was there a course that required me to answer trivia to replenish my "shields". why were "nuggets" a term involved in that process. what did any of that gamification *mean*
