Great W. NYCFC hopefully just closed out the Ernst Tanner era in Philadelphia.

Ojeda has been cooking. Alonso Martinez is fast, but Ojeda might be a little faster. Key role creating that Moralez goal.

Didn't have Maxi Moralez running in behind on my how to replace Alonso Martinez gameplan.

Looks like it's O'Toole & Shore double pivot with Pascal keeping Martins & Haak at CB with Gustavo at LB.

Jonny Shore one of those missing piece tonight. In April, he played 90 against Philly in a 1-0 win.

After that match, I asked him how he looked so comfortable against the press. He said it was nothing new for him w/ his xp playing Philly's academy.

Pascal is counting on that poise tonight.
Pascal has is work cut out for him to put together a line up for this one. Haak will fill in for O'Neill at the 6 but who else steps into midfield for Perea or at striker for Martinez?

As an educator and coach, Danya was one of the best teachers of anything period. For someone to be able to play at the top level and be able to break down such a complex game into simple, understandable chunks even for patzers was unsurpassed by anyone IMHO.

Dude was just 29.
GM Daniel Naroditsky passed away. He was a talented chess player, commentator, and educator. FIDE extends its deepest condolences to Daniel’s family and loved ones.

Loved this one by @treyfillmore.bsky.social. A lot of my feelings of frustration about the direction of MLS and the sport in general, I felt in this one.
David Lee’s tenure as NYCFC sporting director is over. But how do you grade a guy when you don't even know what his job was? @treyfillmore.bsky.social explores this and why NYCFC needs to turn off the corporate autopilot.

My first contribution to @thecup.us: I watched former NYCFC midfielder Daniel Bedoya score a free kick in a nor'easter on Sunday at Hofstra.

Impressive effort by Josh and co behind the scenes to organize a 59-GAME recap article written by ACTUAL HUMANS. They deserve a couple bucks if you can spare.
#USOC2026: 59 games over four days, the most ever in a single round of the qualifying tournament, made up the Second Qualifying Round of the 2026 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. We have recaps from each of them, thanks to our incredible team of volunteers.

Look for Raul Gustavo today left back and for Haak to push into the midfield.

Just need everyone to know that NYCFC is starting three tiny Argentines and Miami is only starting one.

I wrote WAY too much on where the U20 USYNT stands heading into the U20 World Cup, one of my favorite tournaments. Part 1 is out now; part 2 is coming in a few days, and covers the other groups in the tournament:

Hearing that Miami fans that try to wear Messi attire in the Supporters Section tonight at Citi Field will be forced to change into 2015 Ned Grabavoy jerseys.

The biggest impact of Nico Fernandez's DP has been the fact that NYCFC now $12.5 million in U22 transfer fee coming off the bench to run at tired legs. Both Julian and Ojeda have been cooking off the bench for the last month. Imagine if they had actually filled all of their prime roster spots.

At this point, I think I would buy 11 $2 hot dogs and start them for Atlanta United.
