Who is else had a SMS? This Sega Master System controller arrived completely dead; no buttons working. Narrowed the issue down to a shorted ground wire somewhere in the cable. Soldered on a new 9-pin cable and viola, works!

I recently restored an NES board and just received a pair of original controllers. The patent for these controllers expired some years ago, but I wanted trademarked ‘real thing.’ Yeah, I’m that nerdy 😉

My New Year’s Day project. Board to convert the Sega 8-pin RGB signal to VGA. I’ve seen lots of commercial 8-pin RGB to SCART adapters but going to VGA is more direct for A/V equipment in the US and I already have an upscaler that can take VGA.

I needed a bigger boat. Building out the retro rig; Intellivision, Master System, Genesis, NES and C64 Ultimate. All original boards save for the C64 Ultimate which is a ‘new’ product. I’m refurbishing the, once broken, NES. #retrogaming.

Last night in SD. Sun just set behind the courtyard of our hotel. Boo! Went to the San Diego museum of Art. There was a special exhibit of Castaneda. New to me; abstract with themes self reflection often depicted by recursion in the work.
