What God has joined together,
let no one put asunder.

Conservative Evangelicals like to compare the president to Cyrus but intentionally harming children is a lot more like Pharaoh or Herod.

Get offline and go back to the Bible, friend. You are genuinely coming across as unstable and I’m guessing I’m not the first person to say so.

Extremely peaceful in Pasadena today. Highlights included the whole crowd singing America the Beautiful in front of City Hall & watching a stranger help patch up the skinned knee of a man who stumbled on the pavement. Love of country & love of neighbor were both on full display.

But they can’t understand
why so many young people
are deconstructing their faith

The way of Jesus has never been conquest.

The way of Columbus was anti-Christ.

Christians should be at the forefront of the decolonization movement.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

I happen to think the fact that emergency departments will treat everyone including the unhoused and undocumented is one of the most truly Christian things we do in America.

I find it sad that our president doesn’t mind being racist. I find it absolutely heartbreaking that a large percentage of our country doesn’t mind either.

The average person didn’t need Jesus to get in their face and call them a sinner. The religious elite were already doing that plenty.

If you want to be hated the way Jesus was hated, stand in solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed.

I wasn’t looking for this, it’s just one random comment that represents the harmful dissociation linked to hyper vigilant end times theology. God made a good creation. Jesus joined in solidarity with humanity. This world matters to God and it should matter to us.

Lord Jesus, Son of God,
have mercy on us sinners.

Many of the most outspoken Christians will harass people for Jesus, take rights away for Jesus, justify child starvation for Jesus… anything but actually listen to Jesus.

Friendly reminder that when you’re in California and you tell Mexicans to go back where they came from you’re actually telling them to stay right where they are

I usually post about the intersection of faith and public life but I think it’s important to let you all know that I was an extra in The Dark Knight. I was almost Christian Bale’s stand in but was a little too tall. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Christians who relish the use of violence and bloodshed to hasten the return of Christ should give the book of Amos a read

Witnessed ZERO violence in Riverside CA today. Peaceful protesting with good-hearted people who shared cold water amid the heat and American flags amid the rise of fascism. From my vantage point the people have won the day.

Scripture is often misapplied to America but this one fits like a glove

May the Holy Spirit guide us through these trials and may the ears of our oppressors never stop ringing with the voices of dissent

The god of Christian supremacy is petty, transactional, and impotent

The true God knows all of us, dignifies our agency, and loves us with an unfailing love

Jesus loves stay-at-home dads. And guys with no job. And non-Christians.

He also taught his true followers not to judge.

I’m a Christian but I will say I like the atheist understanding of death a lot more than the evangelical understanding of eternal conscious torment

Jesus is a kind king who humbly washed the feet of his disciples

Jesus is a collaborative king who liberated and empowered his followers

Jesus is a compassionate king who embraced death to spare the life of a criminal

No one in the history of American politics comes close
