I was so pleased to deliver my maiden speech this week. It was such a privilege to bring #Broxtowe into parliament and talk about many of Broxtowe's gems, from Eastwood's DH Lawrence to Attenborough Nature Reserve.

I have signed a joint letter with Nottinghamshire MPs to the University of Nottingham to ask them to reconsider proposed course suspensions and potential closures and to engage in meaningful consultation with staff and unions.

Today is UN World Children's Day and I am proud to support President Zelenskyy’s initiative to Bring Kids Back UA, a global campaign calling for the safe return of Ukrainian children unlawfully taken to Russia. Over 20,000 Ukrainian children have been displaced by the war. #BringKidsBack

This expansion is part of the first phase of the Government’s Best Start school-based nursery rollout, which funded 300 schools to create or expand nursery places.

Great news from Mayor Claire who has secured an additional £19 million of government funding to build more than 750 homes in the East Midlands. Great to see that brownfield land will be brought back into use to build the affordable housing people desperately need.
