It was lovely to meet with constituents Rachel and Simbayi in Parliament this week. They are care workers campaigning with UNISON, and I wholeheartedly support their campaign for a sector-wide visa scheme for social care and a fully funded Fair Pay Agreement for social care workers.

Along with Labour colleagues, I've written to the Minister for Migration and Citizenship, to reiterate our concerns about the impact proposals to change indefinite leave to remain requirements will have on people here on the BN(O) visa scheme.

I recently met with Joe Powell from the Ministry of Justice to discuss the over representation of dyslexic people in the criminal justice system.

By recognising neurodiversity within our justice system, we can improve rehabilitation outcomes and reduce re-offending rates.

🛣️🚗 Labour is DOUBLING the amount of cash for roads including £700 million for the East Midlands.🚗 🛣️

Providing long-term investment and increasing the amount available to councils that publish their pothole data will save money on costly patchwork repairs and ensure councils are held accountable.

Here is what the Autumn Budget means for Broxtowe 👇🏿

I have been campaigning since I was elected for the Treasury to release the BCSSS investment reserve to their members. In today’s Budget, the Treasury announced they will do just that. Labour have delivered the fairness and justice all our mineworkers deserve.

The way councils are funded isn’t fair. Labour are reversing that injustice and delivering a fair funding system based on local needs, which has tackling deprivation at its heart.

I will be campaigning hard to make sure that funding is increased for our area.

Today is White Ribbon Day, also known as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Violence against women and girls is still far too common. We all have a role in ending violence against women and girls.

Fantastic news for commuters in Broxtowe!

For the first time since the ‘90s, Labour is freezing national rail fares. That will mean savings for people across the country.

E.g. someone travelling to work 3 days a week using flexi-season tickets from Nottingham to Derby will save £67.50 per year
