The first GCSE paper I ever taught had something like this - back in the early 2000’s - Edexcel’s source paper - essentially students had to process a set of sources in order to address an interpretation.

Absolutely. An iron law of whether a statement about immigrants is true is that it should also apply if you just use the word “people”. (A test that many claims on the liberal side also fail!)
