Mazatlan has a great variety of beaches. I enjoyed climbing the rocky point at this beauty. #Traveladdicts

Wow, listen to all those birds! Wonderful. I hiked the last few days, too. Our snow is melting quick.

Great capture with the sea of fall color & the gorgeous clouds. Here’s one along the same drive on a beautiful October day. #Protectourparks

A1: I really enjoyed the Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park last year. I felt like there were many stories about diversity that were very inspiring. #ParkChat

Aww! What a cutie!

I’d love to celebrate #ParkChat moving to @bsky.app by posting one of my faves from the past year.
Dusk in #JoshuaTreeNationalPark.

Love it! It’s great fun if it’s not -30 out. I threw a surprise bday party (pond hockey) for my husband in 2021 when we couldn’t do anything inside & hadn’t seen friends in a long time. I think everyone loved it.

Last weekend our son’s pond hockey team won the U.S. Pond Hockey Championship for their age/skill level! Minneapolis puts on such a great event.

We need every little ounce of joy we can squeeze out of each day right now. Here’s a my little joy for today.
Frosted tipped oak leaves! They are gorgeous.

Mushrooms in the winter…look at these beautiful Splitgill!

Maybe! They were very outgoing. The last year they volunteered was about 15 years ago. They were very proud of their work there. I remember them staying in their camper and they said they wouldn’t accept any pay for their work if it was offered!
Here’s my Aunt that just passed away.

We did this through Get Your Guide and our tour was fabulous. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Happy New Year!
I’m in central time, but just woke up to a flood of photos from my son in Pasadena. They walked the staging area of the Rose Bowl parade.

Hope your holidays are full of joy, Kristen! My son is home (from L.A.) for the first time in 5 1/2 years, so I’m trying to do lots of “MN” stuff with him. We tried to go out to eat at an igloo last night, but it was -10 and they couldn’t get it warmed up enough. 😆 It looked pretty though!

You’re welcome! I have a friend in Louisiana that always asks questions. It’s fun explaining what winter is like here! Here’s a frozen waterfall for you. It’s one our favorite things to do. Hike to the waterfalls on the N. Shore of Lake Superior.

If you see this, post an image you saved because it made you laugh.

These were next to each other in my library. I figured they went together!

Everywhere! Most of our local snowmobile trails cut across lakes. People put their fish houses out and drive their trucks out there. It only takes 12-15 inches of ice for a vehicle to drive out there.
We hold the largest ice fishing tournament in the world. 10k people on the lake. 😂

If you could take a 4 hour break from the hectic holiday season, where would you “teleport” yourself to for a little quiet time?
I think I’d choose a hike in the Redwoods NP. It’s so silent & peaceful. And, of course…stunning!

It was called The Bodega. 😂
Other than that, you had to go to the bowling alley or be lucky enough to find a house (fish house) party.
Summer though…game on! I grew up in an old mining town with 100’s of acres of places to go. The mines closed before my time & left pits that filled with water.

We name our snowplows in Minnesota, too!!
We vote on them every year. I’ll repost the new names coming out as soon as it comes out. It’s great fun!
2022 had some of my faves.

Not a great photo. But gives you an idea of what January in Minnesota looks like with everyone driving out to their fish houses. 😂
