Congratulations @jo-clarke.bsky.social !!!! Jo’s book Libby and the Egyptian Escapade is out today. Jo is a brilliant storyteller, librarian and champion of children’s books. Can’t wait to read! 👏💥😍
It's been a while, so I thought I'd do an intro. I'm the author of, The Travelling School Mysteries, book 4, Libby and the Egyptian Escapade is publishing Jan 25.
After 11 years working as a primary school librarian, I'm shortly off to work in a secondary school library.
Come say hi!

‘In Charley’s eyes, Wilbert Heaven was a god. Not only had he played all the best clubs in Harlem, he had met all the ‘greats’ and had actually seen the famous tap-dancing Nicholas Brothers performing first hand!’

‘By day it looked nothing out of the ordinary. By night it was something special. Ablaze with twinkling lights spelling out The Wren in glamorous swirling letters. It was the smallest theatre in Soho, but also one of the best.’

I'm looking for Creative Writing academics - do you know any here?
I made a Starter Pack for those I've spotted already, but I know there must be many more (and my list skews female right now!).
Reply to be added (or taken off, of course). Thanks!

I was 55 - still pinching myself 6 years later
56 when I was first published. This is true.
It’s never too late – I was 44 when my debut poetry collection was published – I’d been writing poems forever. I’ve published 8, 9th on the way. And my debut novel, linked with my poems. Earth is rejuvenated by spring, creativity keeps you young. Don’t give up, just keep renewing yourself & your art

Have spent a rainy few days in Coniston, walking and visiting the homes of John Ruskin, William Wordsworth, and Beatrix Potter. This is Dorothy W’s special tea-cup - which cost a bit more than she anticipated - and meant she couldn’t afford to buy the kettle with which to make her tea ❤️

Lovely weekend at #CheltLitFest with my mum and sisters. Listened to some amazing writers talking about their work (highlight was #KateAtkinson) and today #ClareHunter and #AarathiPrasad discussing the politics of embroidery.
