Recently an editor told me any potential publisher would give up on my writing because I used em-dashes, ellipses, and italics (the latter for emphasis in dialogue). I have since made note of every use of each I come across, especially by best-selling authors. Long live the --!

Absolutely! I haven't read it through from beginning to end before either (I "popcorned" writing different scenes) and I'm so excited to see what I actually wrote 😄
