The fact that the Oklahoma student wrote an objectively terrible essay (no citations, failure to meet minimum university-level standards) is almost beside the point.

She wrote it in response to a trans instructor, and now her mother is demanding that all trans people be banned from teaching.

How does the law command this outcome? How can you know this? By what determination? I’m not calling names here, but I am saying this is unjustified self-righteousness.

You respectfully offered a dissenting opinion on the conflict w/out having seen the actual assignment or a familiarity of the course assignments. It was a textbook case of talking out of your ass, under the guise of pedagogical analysis, from someone who doesn’t teach undergrads. Was that civility?

Here's what this is actually about, dumbass

This doesn’t excuse anyone hatred or bigotry *at all*. Or the hypocrisy of people who pick and choose from Deuteronomy. But it’s just pure, uncut stupidity.

This is one part that really gets me. I have had evangelical/fundamentalist students—grad and undergrad. One of our best grad students was a staunch fundamentalist. And they knew their Bible, literal chapter and verse. In addition to everything else, the OU student is ignorant and lazy on her terms.

I want to ask you about him once a week tbh

Silly me for asking

Is this person saying this as a compliment or insult. Also I suspect this is true

I tell ya, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing.

Yes…like the fittest man in the world! At least, that’s what Grok told me. I was assured that EM had a lower body fat percentage than LeBron James and much better physical shape.

Just…wow. Wow. It’s amazing how you’ve been unable to follow the conversation thread. It’s also amazing how your summary there sort of proves the point you were trying to disprove. Good work!

No one said that Jyn wasn’t the protagonist!

He said that Cassian is the protagonist of the story Rogue One “wants to tell.” He didn’t say that Cassian was the actual protagonist. Maybe you should read the post more time.

I enjoyed the movie, but really for the fact that it has good scenes rather it being a good movie as a whole. I know stuff in trailers is often not in the final film, but it’s telling to me that the trailers have better lines. It was a missed opportunity.

Is it worth even noting that Franklin didn’t create a public library? (It was membership based, by subscription.) Or that the fire department was volunteer?

How was he an abolitionist? How? How? What actions did he take to abolish slavery during his lifetime? When did he publicly call for the end of slavery? What qualifies him as an abolitionist?
November 23, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Exactly! The fact is, nearly half of everyone in Virginia opposed slavery in 1776. That includes includes the 41% of the population that was enslaved, plus others we know that were opposed. Jefferson never publicly urged the end of slavery. Ever.

What. Possible. Evidence. Is. There. For. This. Seriously. You know, I can recommend so many books if you actually wish to learn about this. Not sure you do.
