I was amazed while watching federal politicians debate today that many appeared unaware of basic history like this agreement. 👇🏻
Folks that are talking about Alaska tankers heading to Puget Sound, just a reminder there is an agreement between Canada/USA on tanker safety, whereas they stay well offshore just in case they become disabled, to allow heavy tugs respond. The TEZ/TAPS line has been in place since 1985.

The United Conservative Party government recently awarded a $95-million settlement to the Australian mining firm Montem Resources.

About a third of that settlement will go to an investment firm in Melbourne. The same firm that funded Montem’s lawsuit against Alberta.
