I am a writer and photographer living in Philadelphia.

She/Her
I believe the plant that caught the sun here is called Efo Shoko, or Lagos Spinach. Absolutely magical.

I mean, just look at her. She’s perfect. A princess. And blooming in October. A gem.

The golden light was shifting around zinnia flowers resulting in many bad photos but also this one.

Look at the texture of this flower!

There is something about the transparency of these leaves and the glow that produces that lights me up.

My wife noted that I mostly post photos of the sky here on this app. This is true. Here are some more!

The colors are bursting through the growing season. Bees and birds are constant visitors. My little strip of land in the city is always active with color and movement. Hands down, the best trade I ever made.

The results have been spectacular. Blooms from early spring through October. Coneflowers and Beebalm. Butterfly weed and goldenrod.

Two years ago a friend was scammed by a fraudulent business which left her without a wedding photographer. I stepped in and photographed her wedding, and in return she used her horticultural skills to design and plant a garden in the back strip of my house in West Philly.

Most of the photography I do these days is related to nature. Flowers and wildlife are my models and landscapes are my settings. It’s tough to carve out time for art between work and parenthood. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to get back to it someday, or find time once a year to create.

As someone who knows you well I find this question to be wild. You spoke politics directly to city council. You’ve been on television advocating for queer families. I mean, your book is banned by the doj! If that’s not political talk I don’t know what is.

After the cathedral of St. Andrews was no longer in use, the town sold the iron roof and the townspeople collected the stone for their houses. The cathedral became the town around it.

After I took this photo my daughter told me she saw a dragon flying through the blue sky beyond the stone window.

My eight year old has taken up residence in this closet. She just finished the first book in the Dragonbreath series and after I got her the next two on e-reader she closed herself in. She found a little cubby in the closet where she is wedged in like the filling of a sandwich.

We got the kind of lost where you know where you are but you’re not sure if you’re on the right path. Surely the intended trail can’t be this narrow or steep. Then there is an opening in the trees and it doesn’t matter if this path is right or not, because it brought you here.

I was at a cocktail party and my friend noticed this Red-Tailed Hawk.

I am not sure about what’s going on with the plotline of my life.

Part of my job is helping wildlife cross the road. This sounds like the setup to a joke but I legit support my family by doing this stuff.

At the place where I work we have been following the ongoing will they/won’t they drama of a couple of Canada geese who may or may not be nesting by the pond. This week, Third Goose arrived. It has been a Goose standoff for days.

This is my favorite photo of @chrismorsecode.bsky.social who I met during a 24-hour play workshop. He moved away and I miss him.

This is a photo from when my wife testified at a Philadelphia city council meeting to advocate for transgender people. I was there for moral support. She did great.
