This is why I get aggravated with the anti lab grown meat folks. Let's grow that! It would be way more ethically sound and better for the environment than what we currently do.

I wouldn't have voted for this, but I think it was justifiable. So I don't know why they just don't say "The administration was willing to let people go hungry during the holidays in their efforts to jackup healthcare costs. This way you get to enjoy your holidays while we fight for a deal". Easy!

That is the text of this CR, yeah. The funding the administration was holding up was enough for, say, Thanksgiving, but I don't think there was enough for Christmas. And that likely is the motivating factor here.

The only Senator here that you've quoted that didn't also vote to convict is McConnell. Murkowski, Romney, Sasse, Toomey...they all voted to convict.

I think Republican elected officials are loathsome bottom feeders that cannot be counted on to the right thing even if their life was put in danger. The counterfactual where they actually vote to convict requires them not to be the despicable dregs of society.

I find it hart do believe that the Republican Senate convicts no matter how quick it goes no matter how fast it goes. But if one were so inclined, one could make a comparison to Clay returning to the Senate and pushing the Compromise of 1850.

Hmm. I have never actually seen a picture of him doing that. I have seen a picture of him signing a bomb going to Ukraine with Zelensky right next to him and that picture being alleged to be about bombs to Israel.

Seeing a lot of Democrats winning seats on the Perkasie Council Board too. I grew up there and that feels nuts.

It's looking good, but while all mail in voting was reported there were only sporadic election day results reported. Or at least that was the case until someone accidently zeroed out all the data on the website 10 minutes ago.

Oh, he'll just be Vice President and the actual President will step aside. 12th Amendment issues. Maybe Congress will make him Speaker/PPT and then the President and VP will step aside. What are we even talking about anymore?

Oh, so they were really trying to recreate Fetterman with this guy.

There are sections of South Philadelphia that act like that about the rest of Philly. Once you get passed Washington Ave you start hitting enclaves that wouldn't venture north of South St unless they're in the Mummers Parade.

I'm self aware enough to know I'm weird for thinking that it would be fine to have my taxes raised enough that the IRS does not need to send a refund check. That money wasn't real anyway.
