@tromano.bsky.social wrote an oral history of the Village Voice. @ericacbarnett.bsky.social & I will be interviewing her tonight at Elliott Bay. 7pm. Free. Here's the Village Voice from the week I was born. Stokely Carmichael's original "Black Power" exhortation and also the Beatles on the cover.

Seattle's bumping. In the last 48 hours I've been at packed coffeeshops, 2 different crowded restaurants, on packed light rail trains & buses, at 2 packed bars, and out on the jumping streets. I'm not saying this is about Katie Wilson. But she IS more of a match for what's happening in our city.

Is it? It's kind of oblivious to county health code.
November 6, 2025 at 12:00 AM
I've had to move twice now to avoid sitting next to someone's dog in this coffee shop; I'm uncomfortable around dogs. I've lost this fight (even tho it's against county health code). I'm polite when I move. But the obliviousness.

😇It's getting meta out there. This IS a NYT headline and not @nytpitchbot.bsky.social

What is with this convoluted, unintelligible headline? 40+ million people are losing their SNAP benefits. Talk about bending over backward to pretend this is normal.

Wilson so playful in the face of Harrell's roiling, bitter attack mode. #mood
