oh my god what if death was referencing yoru and pochita when commanding fami and fakesaw... genuinely believable foreshadowing

me waiting for the pain devil to be introduced (it should be in the top 2 most powerful)

asa's mom kills her husband to salvage their future living conditions, and lessens the guilt with his own sins. she literally puts "besides..." beforehand!! that isnt the focal point of the scene!!!
November 25, 2025 at 8:27 PM
obviously it isnt a true solution with the info we currently have, but you could stretch fujimoto's logic and say that erasing michigan altered the layout of american territory. it's definitely been established that pochita's erasure is haphazard and fucked up.

oh my god i think i might've found an answer

we only first see the "oregon sword" after yoru drags the michigan sword through pochita's guts. the moment she swipes the oregon sword through him again, it isn't seen for the rest of the chapter, and she switches virginia

HE FUCKIN DIGESTED THEM

i think people are subconsciously relating this confrontation to the final fight against makima in part 1, even though it's vastly different both thematically and narratively.

part 2 will not roll credits once yoru is defeated. she is not makima.

how does this image relate to what ur talking about

i'm usually not one to say something like this, but that mf is NOT dead... his "finale" is so unlike any other major death in part 2, and it's extremely obvious when directly compared.

it's cope time

i think a perfect way for this relationship to reach its boiling point would be pochita defeating yoru, and her then reminding denji of what she told him; he defeated her older sister, so she'll have sex with him (using asa's body).

asa can then finally say, "what the fuck is wrong with you?"
November 18, 2025 at 12:43 AM
their relationship is anything but one-sided regarding mistakes; it's a tragic tug-of-war fueled by internal flaws and external detractors. despite how much they struggle upwards, the only way forward is down.
November 17, 2025 at 11:41 PM
asa willingly carries out the hamfisted plan fed to her (a plan explicitly designed to shatter denji again) because her quest for retribution outweighs any genuine connections available in the process. she exploits his vulnerability, and ultimately pushes him into an even worse version of himself.
November 17, 2025 at 11:34 PM
one of the most important panels in the entirety of part 2 is the one where her speech bubble, "i'll save you no matter what!", literally blocks denji out of the frame.

he distinctly outlines the flaws in her plan, expressing discomfort and suspicion, but holds no other resource to find nayuta.
November 17, 2025 at 11:34 PM
i do think asa holds a fairly important track record of fucking over denji for her own interests, as well. they've kinda been taking turns bringing each other downwards.

her blind complicity in fulfilling her own vague savior fantasy is the most prominent element of this. now, they're both lost.

like, the fumiko karaoke scene is a prime example of this sort of writing style. why the hell did they get attacked by a whole squadron of unnamed men? that shit had literally no reason to happen!

but, it did anyway, and the series is better for it.

i will say that it's inaccurate to imagine the film as one which "punishes the audience for being invested". it's just very nonstandard in how it approaches comedic narrative; the characters matter more than anything else, and the convoluted background plot is just a vessel for their interactions.

it's a satirization of america's sociocultural philosophy. yoru wants to lead a genocidal "holy war", fueled by... the power of friendship. yerp, that's america!
