And we thought StackOverflow copypasta was bad
One of the many joys of using AI for programming is the creation of huge PRs on complex topics that the authors barely understand, but still suggest "because they work". Here's a great example from #OCaml github.com/ocaml/ocaml/...

Kudos to OCaml's maintainers for handling this so gracefully.

I literally told someone yesterday that CodeCommit was deprecated for new users. Whoops.

At least CodeCommit isn’t Bitbucket…

There are serious companies that are vibe coding their systems and stacks. Prepare for a series of failures (and layoffs) in the next one to two years.

I reviewed 197,079 photos across 2,915 photoshoots (January 1996 – October 2025) to select 281 photos for my new coffee table book showcasing weather in the D.C. area.

It took months to review the photos, and it brought back lots of good memories. The book can be ordered at dcstormchaser.com/books.

I saw a lot of people send the original article my way, which i did not share because it seemed like obvious bullshit. Now that has been shown to be true. I know people are worried about AI stuff, but try to be a bit more careful about what's real and what's not.
If you have been sharing that Malwarebytes article on the Gmail thing, you should note the giant correction up top.

This great thread makes a point I've been trying to convey for years. Calling all data-driven prediction or decision software "AI" is a huge gift to LLM hypemen, who want people to believe, incorrectly, that LLM data centers are crucial for solar forecasting or operating buildings and power grids.
Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

This was such a fun photo to set up, taken by Thomas Reiter through a sleep station window on Mir. The sun was so bright we were all squinting like crazy. But I love how it shows the texture of the Shuttle's rough, protective hide, and the glimpse of humanity (and my moustache) against the universe.

When MTG says “There is no plan to save the world” we really should be reading that for what it means — no one is working with anyone in our govt, it’s every politician for themselves.

@pfrazee.com are y’all aware of the video player bug on mobile where you can’t get it out of full screen and have to force quit the app?
