Regardless of whether they are actually doing a good job or not, it is telling that it's necessary to lavish praise on various Americans by name just to ensure that they treat Ukraine fairly.

I mean this is what people thought in 2021 though right?

Art and literature can become commodities.

Things like art and writing have absolutely had monetary value attached to them but they were still mostly creative endeavors by individuals. With AI, content is now something that companies can create at volume without worrying about petty issues like creativity or actual mental effort.

10-15 years ago if you needed a ride home from the airport or a place to stay you'd inconvenience a friend or a relative. Now there's Uber and Airbnb.

I mean I agree.

I think a lot of the discourse around disruption is really "How can we find societal norms or features that aren't currently monetized, monetize them, and put them under the control of capital.

They're all carefully contained *within* the pots Waldo.

Louis CK "reentered" a while back, following the tried-and-true resentful "I did nothing wrong" angle of appealing to the angry non-woke crowd, including the just one gender joke.

There is no bar to meet. The anti-woke will like his material out of spite. It almost doesn't matter if it's funny.

Disruption for disruption's sake.

I've listened occasionally to the NHK World podcast which is an English news program from Japan. It often is pretty good. Their coverage of business/economics is good, the journalists involved do a good job explaining various concepts and getting into what the impacts will be.

It turned out... Okay. Not a disaster but also not something I'll do again. I'll stick to my apple pie and buy sweet potato from the bakery when I want it.

What?

Accounting isn't mandatory in high schools.

I never took it.

Also I don't see any link between accounting and gun violence.

This year I am attempting it but of course I have to be wayward and try it with purple sweet potatoes. I'll post pictures if it turns out good.

There already is "unity" — an overwhelming consensus among scientific experts that RFK's entire perspective is categorically wrong and dangerous for the health of Americans.

He's also not "the most powerful man in science". He's the most powerful man in an agency controlling what science does.

I sure can!

I appreciate that you are coming from a place of wanting to avoid people being hurt. It's just that my faith has eroded in the police to prioritize citizen safety over citizen control and punishment.

I also suspect that these maneuvers cause more injuries than they prevent.
November 25, 2025 at 1:59 AM
What about police doing a PIT maneuver that results in an injured law abiding citizen?

Do you think a few rambunctious or mentally ill people being shot dead is a small price to pay to make sure that in every police encounter there's a possibility the criminal gets gunned down?
November 25, 2025 at 1:49 AM
We need a national reform plan for cops. The first step is cops need to be evaluated on how many peoples' lives they measurably improve, not how many people they put away.

Don't look up PIT maneuver videos. It'll only make your blood boil.
November 24, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Cops LOVE doing the PIT maneuver. They just can't wait to flip over a vehicle that isn't pulling over to lick the officer's boots.

Ever since the Supreme Court determined it is not the job of cops to protect anyone, police departments have been hiring people who like controlling people.

This is us but the pieces of pottery we own are ones my wife and I made ourselves and so look less rustic and more eclectic.

Our whole house could do with so much tidying up and I am deeply hurt by how accurately you have described us.
