Third rate duelist. Here for neither a good or long time.
The other thing I’ve done a lot of for my own back/foot issues is a stretch routine to start and end my days. It’s been consistently helpful to keep all my stabilizer muscles in good shape. If you can muster it some simple core workouts might also do wonders (1 min of planks/leg lifts twice daily).

The best advice I can give here is find shoes that promote standing more on the balls of your feet and not locking your knees. Insoles can help a lot with this but it can be tough to find the exact right ones.

Compression sleeve for your knee is probably wise. Also, if you can book an appointment with a podiatrist ahead of then you can get some VERY specific recommendations from them, and possibly orthopedic insoles specific to you. Source: I was born with extreme foot issues and have had to do this.

I always read it as people only saying what they’re about and not actually doing anything about it, but generally I agree that it’s good to make clear what one thinks is good and just.

If you ever have the experience of seeing a night sky out in the deep countryside you can understand this; it really is a fundamentally different experience, and I can't imagine it not being formative to people.

Long change makes me think it could mostly be a sweet spot of guys just getting caught in long shifts and penalties being hooking/tripping/etc as desperation plays to prevent breakaways. Maybe looking at the types of penalty calls could help form a hypothesis?
