Am I aging out of proofreading? It feels like over half the games I've played recently have comma splices everywhere.

Maybe that's considered okay these days.

Oof.

Condo board meeting. They’re playing a 2023 remix of California Dreamin’ for those waiting for this to begin.

They’re all way older than me, and I’m no spring chicken. The music is anathema to them. They’re complaining.

Now it’s a modern remix of Fly Me to the Moon. Shinji, get me TF outta here.

I was going to make French toast on this -25 °C morning, but there is no maple syrup in my cupboards.

For some reason, I'm feeling nostalgic for the PSP Vita, a handheld that I've never once played.

I don't know why. Maybe I just like gadgets?

When I was in high school, I participated in robotics competitions. Learned about electronics, engineering, working in a team.

Most of all, I learned the value of not giving up despite looming deadlines.

Once we won it all. Once we came second. Once we got routed.

Which will it be this time?

What's the most you would be comfortable winning as a prize?

At some point, I think the value would be so high that I'd be overwhelmed. I don't want a billion dollars. I've seen what that kind of money can do to someone.

Assuming you won the lottery, today, what is the maximum you'd want to win?

The problem with late-night kitbashing game systems and settings is that I don't want to stop, but I need to go to bed, and if I do I won't sleep because my mind's working too fast.

My job is to trust other people, prioritize my brain space, and bear the load of saying no.

I like the job, but it definitely isn’t what I expected. And it ain’t easy.

But neither is anyone else’s.

What’s the earliest you remember a video game talking to you?

A few of my earliest:

“I’m the Chessmaster. Wanna play a game?”

“Hit the pass!”

“Eat my shorts.”

“Congratulations! You have earned a gold Map Skills Plaque.”
