I think many folks in journalism assume that if no one sends you an angry email asking for a correction, what you wrote is correct. If that's not happening anymore, that's bad for a bunch of reasons.

A judge found the man in the photo, Bith Chuol, guilty of extorting the woman. But for reasons I don't fully understand, the court found that while Chuol extorted the victim, the Crown had not proved he was in on the plan to kidnap and kill her.

Perhaps most chillingly, photos of her friends and family were found arrayed on the floor of her home. Sounds like someone was potentially making her look at them as they extracted the info they wanted from her.

Not totally sure, but it sounds like the ADM for Crown prosecutors would typically be siloed off above and beyond other ADMs, but that's me speculating
